Day 8: Some Days Work Better Than Others

In my original post in 2016, I invited everyone to come by and visit me. Don’t do this now, please.

“I would love to visit you but I don’t want you to waste a spoon on me.” –from a friend

Come visit me!! πŸ™‚ Don’t worry about taxing me if you come stop by these days. Sometimes, it’s worth using a spoon, if the benefit is good for my mental health. That goes for seeing friends, as well as Skyping or FaceTiming, and especially applies to doing some work. If I get a little reading or Yiddish done, it might cost me a lot of spoons to work for an hour or so, but I feel so much better about myself at the end.

Yesterday, I was able to enjoy time with friends from Oxford, some of whom I hadn’t seen in over a year. It had been planned months before. While I had to save spoons for two days before, and I’ll be recovering today and tomorrow, it is SO worth it! My spirits are so good today, and I would have been so bummed out if I hadn’t seen them.

So don’t worry– I’ll let you know if it’s not a good time to come. Otherwise, come visit! We can chat, munch biscuits, whatever. Certainly don’t be concerned your presence will make me worse– it will definitely only make me better. πŸ™‚ Also, shout-out to the The Hibbs Lupus Trust and their Walk for Lupus Research today! The weather is definitely working for you.

Even back then, I was an expert video chatter! It’s always been a great tool for me, because you can chat without even getting off the couch. Don’t come visit, but do keep video chatting!
